JUNE 7th - june 10th 2019
This TWO-DAY workshop is like nothing we've ever done before-- and to say we are excited would be an understatement! We whole-heartedly believe that to be successful in this industry-- it takes a lot more than just being a good technical photographer, it requires a lot of passion and heart, but also a community you can depend on when times get tough. This workshop takes ALL of those things and brings them together into one kick-ass weekend.
We literally have SO many points we want to hit that we felt a TWO day workshop was not just a desire, but instead, a necessity.
....oh, and on top of being a TWO day workshop, its also TWO workshops in one. If that makes no sense, make sure to keep reading.
NEW TO YIN + YANG? [FRIDAY]
Your workshop begins Friday. We start early in the morning and go into the night. Its a long day and you better come ready to have your butt kicked. This workshop is a lot of fun, but its a lot of work... we are working with you to create a strong foundation on which you can build your photography. We are supplying you with TWO very different approaches to photography and we want you to use us as a guide in finding your own path. Friday is a whole lot of that technical side to your journey. But that's just Friday... we haven't even gotten to Saturday yet.
This workshop will cover:
Shooting in low-light and indoor situations.
Shooting in the middle of the day, as well as during golden + blue hour.
Working with and embracing open sun.
Posing and Client Interaction
Curating your own creative sessions.
Two VERY different approaches to being in control during a session.
Understanding Lightroom and all of its possibilities.
Two VERY different editing styles.
...and so much more.
THIS WORKSHOP WILL INCLUDE...
A relaxed classroom environment for learning and questions.
An outdoor lifestyle session styled and instructed by Coleen.
A sit down with Coleen where she breaks down and walks through her entire editing process.
An outdoor portrait session styled and taught by Ace.
A sit down with Ace where he breaks down and walks through his entire editing process.
Dedicated time for Questions + Answers.
All food and drinks for the day.
THE DAY OF small business [SATURDAY].
Last year, Saturday was dedicated to the “Day of Feels.” This year, Saturday is dedicated to business (and some feels). We want to pour all of our focus on Friday + Sunday into the art and technical side of photography, but Saturday is dedicated to the less glamorous side of things: B U S I N E S S .
We’re talking taxes, insurance, business licenses, sales and everything else you’ve been too scared to ask about. We want you leaving this workshop, R E A D Y . We don’t want you second-guessing your talent, or your business. We want you to have an insanely strong foundation to build your future on.
The day will begin with headshots— because we all know we need ‘em but none of us like taking them. Then its an entire day of business education— bring your notebooks, pens and get ready to write until your hand bleeds.
B U T — (and its a good but) throughout the day we will also be working on strengthening our bonds as a community, through games, team building activities and most likely, lots of tears and laughs.
One of the best parts of our Yin + Yang Workshops is the community. We are a group of photographers, all different, who have come together to create a family. And no bullshit, its a legit family. We call each other on our shit, we push one another to be better, and we continue to grow and support each other through every walk of our journey. This community means EVERYTHING to us and as we planned this workshop, we asked ourselves, "How do we take what we have and make it even stronger?" And from that question, we created, The Day of Feels.
Saturday is also DAY ONE for our Yin + Yang Alumni. Yep. This is going to be BIG. It's no longer just the people who were sitting next to you on your first day, BUT ALSO, our past Yin + Yang Workshop Attendees. We want to create the most connected photo community, ever.
We will end the night around a campfire and it will be the break from reality you didn't even know you needed.
This will also mark the end of our Friday workshop.
YIN, YANG + THE NITTY GRITTY. [SUNDAY]
Sunday is dedicated to an even deeper dive into your photography journey. If you've ever attended a Yin + Yang Workshop in the past (even if that workshop was Friday -- see Ultimate Experience pricing for more info.) we've built our foundation already. And Sunday is like adding a second-story onto our home... we are taking your photography to the next level.
We will be spending the day with a few lectures here and there, but mostly, getting our hands dirty with some serious ass-kicking lessons. This day will not be easy... we know you guys and we know your strengths and we know your weaknesses, and we will be calling those out and pushing you to reach new heights.
We will be breaking off into groups throughout the day for more individualized learning.
And while we are focusing the majority of our time on photography technicalities... we are also going to be diving into business, finances, social media and everything we think YOU need to hear.
Pre-sale tickets will be available for sale beginning Monday, December 17th. Pre-sale tickets are discounted $100 and must be paid in full within 24 hours. Pre-sale ends Friday, December 21st.
Workshop Tickets: $600.00
Ultimate Experience Ticket: $900.00
The Ultimate Experience Workshop is for those of you who want it all. This ticket includes a spot at ALL THREE days of Yin, Yang + You. We do not suggest this option for anyone who is just starting out-- Friday alone is going to be A LOT thrown at you. You will be digesting it for the next few months to come. The Ultimate Experience is for photographers who are new to Yin + Yang and aren't messing around. They are ready to run with the big dogs... and kick ass while doing it.
Payment plans are available with a 50% deposit and final payment due 1 month prior to the workshop. Payment plans are not available for pre-sale tickets.
Spots are limited.
Tickets are non-refundable, but transferable.
If you decide for whatever reason you cannot attend, you can sell your ticket to another photographer.
